Payments

A nonrefundable deposit of 50% is required to place an order and secure a delivery date. The remaining balance is due one week prior to the due date. For wedding cakes or larger orders different terms may apply. Any changes to the order are subject to availability, and must be made no later than one week prior and may incur additional charges.

 

Design Variations

Although we make every attempt to provide an exact design and to match colors, custom cakes are a work of art. The final product may be subject to slight variations. Also be aware the exposure to light can cause colors to change. In the event that a major variation needs to be made Sweetpea’s Cakes will communicate this to the customer and seek re-design approval.

 

Allergy Disclaimer

Please be aware that all ingredients are processed on the same equipment (eggs, wheat, nuts). Although we have strict processes in place to prevent cross-contamination there is still a slight risk of the presence of any allergen.

 

Non-Edible Items

Most cakes contain small proportions of inedible items; it is the client’s responsibility to ensure these are removed by your caterer/guests before consumption e.g. Support dowels in tiered cakes, ribbon, wires in sugar flowers, Swarovski crystals, flower picks & flower tape etc. In choosing to have fresh flowers arranged on your cake, you acknowledge that fresh flowers are not food products, and may be toxic or contain pesticide/herbicide residues, dirt, insects, and/or other contaminants.

 

Care & Handling

We are not responsible for any damage to the cake after pick-up or after setup is complete. The client is responsible for providing appropriate transport and a secure table and environment for the cake. Cakes are heavy and require a sturdy table, and optimal temperature. If there are products left in an inappropriate setting Sweetpea’s Cakes is not liable or responsible for damage.

 

Photographs & Marketing

We respect the privacy of all our clients. We do however, reserve the right to photograph baked goods and use those photos on our website, social media, or marketing materials. We also reserve the right to use any photographs for display or promotion without compensation to you.

 

Delivery

Delivery Sweetpea’s Cakes is based on availability, and a time will be arranged in advance. There will be a delivery charge depending on location. After setup or pickup is complete, Sweetpea’s Cakes is not responsible for any damages to the cake, including but not limited to: melting in direct sunlight or high temperatures, bumping, scraping, dropping, mishandling by moving to a different table, etc. It is recommended to be aware of the placement of the cake table while deciding the layout of your event.

 

Liability Disclaimer

By paying for this cake you agree that certain creative changes may be made to your final design for the sake of stability, structural integrity or other certain emergencies. By paying for this cake it is an act of signing this contract that is legal and binding to the fullest extent of the law.
